FSTC Privacy Policy

FSTC values the privacy of our members, and recognizes our responsibility to keep the information they share with us and other members confidential. Our privacy policy explains how we protect members' privacy and interactions as they work to address common industry problems. It also describes how and under what conditions we release private FSTC information to others.

Member Expectations for Privacy
FSTC strives to create an environment in which people feel comfortable speaking candidly with the organization and other members about shared problems, solutions, and challenges in the financial services industry. However, this environment must be balanced with a broad mission to educate.

The following sections describe different consortium activities and the privacy members should expect within from each activity.

Membership Information
In the course of conducting consortium business, we collect and maintain information about our members. Such data includes organizational name, organizational address, primary and secondary contacts, current membership status, and historical dues payment records; we refer to this collectively as membership information. Privacy policies for this type of information is as follows:

Membership Information Your Privacy Expectation
Organizational Name Public
Organizational address Public (URL only)
Primary contact Shared with other members
Secondary contact Private
Current membership status Private
Dues payment records Private

In addition to membership information, we also collect contact information for individuals that participate in FSTC projects, or ask to be included on various distribution lists. FSTC shares individual contact information between members only. Such networking information is a valuable benefit of FSTC membership.

Advisory Council
The FSTC Advisory Council's Standing Committees provide an opportunity for members to hold open discussions on topics of common interest. Standing Committee meetings are private in nature, and those involved should feel free to be candid about issues, problems, opinions, and opportunities that they see in the financial services industry.

Project Participation
Projects are the lifeblood of the organization, and are formed on recommendation from the FSTC Advisory Council. Once a project is funded and underway, the FSTC project environment provides a protected cocoon in which members can work together confidentially.

Projects will produce occasional meeting minutes that are posted for other non-participating FSTC members to review in a "members only" section of the FSTC Web site. As a project participant, you are able to review all meeting minutes for sensitive information before they are posted to the member only Web site.

Many projects are driven by transaction information and other data files that are sourced from actual project participants. Each project is structured to prevent the release of any private data sets that were provided by project participants, although aggregate data may be included with published findings and other research data. In all cases, project participants control the release of this information, whether it is to be to other FSTC members and/or the general public.

FSTC does retain the right to release information about the nature of the project and the names of participating member organizations in order to promote our organization.

General Meetings
FSTC holds general meetings covering the latest in research and technology semiannually. General meetings are attended by FSTC members, invited guests, and non-member participants.

Presentation material is distributed to all meeting participants at the start of the meeting, and is posted to all FSTC members to access in the members only section of the FSTC Web site. On occasion, FSTC records all presentations at the FSTC general meeting and has them transcribed for future use. Prior to releasing this information, FSTC will contact any relevant presenter, panelist, or audience participant for authorization.

Although general meetings are largely a member service, they are not private and those participating in any of the meetings should not make statements that they would not want to see subsequently published.

Sharing Information with Third Parties
FSTC does not share non-public membership information with third parties, nor does FSTC sell or exchange its member distribution lists with other companies. We may disclose membership information to third parties and contractors that perform services on our behalf. We may also disclose membership information under other circumstances, as required by law.

Any sensitive information is removed or protected from any possible Internet access, and can only be accessed by authorized FSTC employees and contractors. FSTC educates employees and contractors about the organization's security policies on a regular basis.

Publicity

FSTC will make every attempt to remove discontinued membership listings from any public lists that we might maintain or distribute. FSTC will maintain individual contact information for terminated members to keep individuals abreast of FSTC activities.
