Standing Committees
Does your institution or company have a technology needing validation or testing? A business process requiring a technology solution to be prototyped or proved? As a member of one of our standing committees, you have the opportunity to steer FSTC projects to meet your needs and save both manpower and money in the process. By participating as a member of our Standing Committees, you can initiate project and study ideas that could end up benefiting not only your company, but the whole industry as well. More information on the various ongoing and completed projects is available in the projects section of this web site.
FSTC Standing Committees provide you with an opportunity to explore, propose, and sponsor projects directly relevant to your organization’s needs. The FSTC Advisory Council has created three committees that proactively address key financial service technology areas:
- Business Continuity Standing Committee: Primarily aimed at financial services continuity and risk management professionals. Provides and open forum in which members can collaboratively address individual and industry issues, while also working to develop solutions, specific tactical technology methodologies, best practices, quick answers to complex issues faced by members, and long term strategies to proactively address the rapidly evolving cost/risk challenges faced in today's world.
- Security and Infrastructure Standing Committee: Helps member financial institutions anticipate and respond to challenges and opportunities in the dynamic area of information security technology, while helping technology providers and standards organizations to understand the unique security needs of the financial services industry.
- Payments and Check Imaging Standing Committee: Addresses issues, trends, and opportunities in the converging and merging world of payments. The SCOM focuses on the effects of payment trends such as imaging, conversion to ACH, PayPal virtual debit, Google wallet, etc. with regard to payment infrastructure, interoperability, standards, process, risk, and rules and regulations.
- Bank Technology Operations Standing Committee: FSTC’s Bank Technology Operations Standing Committee (BT SCOM) will be a community of enterprise architects and senior technologists. It will create opportunities for them to network, collaborate, and share best practices around enterprise-scale issues of architecture and technology.
Standing committees generate ideas for organization initiatives, and set the agenda for their area of service. Special iInterest groups, addressing more topical issues and specific interests, are also formed as part of the larger standing committee.

Participation in the FSTC Standing Committees is one of many FSTC benefits and is available to all employees or agents of FSTC member organizations. To participate in an FSTC Standing Committee, please contact FSTC for more information.
